Hello November

It's been quite awhile since I've blogged on The Ragamuffin Saint. My health has needed my undivided attention. With an insidious, debilitating illness like chronic Lyme disease, there is always something going on; even in the quest of healing. I've honestly not felt like writing. Nor have I had the desire to. But writing is a healthy and beneficial outlet. And since fall is my favorite time of year; I thought I'd try to write a little something at least.

I celebrate my birthday this month so I do love November. And I happen to like my birthday. But let me just state for the record that celebrating birthdays (or holidays) when chronically ill isn't a great big party. It's more like a quiet personal event at home. Therefore I try to focus on some joy and beauty in the day despite how I might be physically feeling. My mom always does something to make my birthday special in some way. And generally, I always try to find some kind of beauty within the messiness. Actually, I think it's necessary.

I love November for many reasons. I love the quiet contemplative beauty it brings. I love watching the vibrant reds, yellows, and oranges of October give way to the rusty browns of November. I love this whole season. And as I've gotten older, I've come to love and appreciate Thanksgiving even more as well.

So hello November. Nice to see you again.

  1. Happy Birthday, Michelle! I love the fall too. I am sorry to hear about the physical battle. Have you ever considered having the Bethel skype healing teams pray and stand with you also? Be blessed....
