The Healing Files: Traumeel

After struggling with an increase in severe joint and muscle pain during these past couple of months, which has been due to herxing or a healing crisis, I found something that helped me and wanted to share it with my friends who also struggle with chronic pain and inflammation. Truly, this came about out of my own desperate search for relief. Perhaps it can help offer you some relief as well. I hope so.

It's called Traumeel and is a homeopathic medicine that comes in liquid drops, tablets, ointment and gel. The key for me was using the drops and ointment together repeatedly throughout the day. I found the more I used it; the more it helped. I'm not saying this is the end-all, cure-all to physical pain. What I am saying is my pain subsided after using this combo several times and hitting it hard, so to speak. I also noticed the fevers I so commonly run improved while taking Traumeel. And might I add that any degree of improvement matters to me.

I know different things work for different people, and this is certainly based on my subjective experience, but nothing else gave me the much needed and longed for relief except this combination of Traumeel drops and ointment. I rubbed down the affected areas with ointment and then took several drops by mouth to keep it in my body systemically. And then I repeated the process several times throughout the day. If Traumeel never helps me again, which I highly doubt, I will still sing it's praises and be grateful for this one particular time that it did bring me tremendous relief!

My doctor told me Traumeel actually reduces cytokine levels. Cytokines are secreted by the immune system and have a great deal to do with the inflammatory responses of the body. Clearly, I am on a chronic Lyme treatment protocol that includes a number of things to help overall with inflammation. This is just one jewel I added when the inflammation and pain intensified. Because Traumeel is a homeopathic medicine, it will not interfere with prescription meds or supplements. I personally like and respond well to homeopathy but that just might be another post for another day. Anyhow, I keep some Traumeel on hand all the time. It's great for sports related injuries or bumps and bruises too. Google it to find out more or go to http://www.traumeel.com/

Perhaps some of you are already familiar with this. If you've used it, I'd love to hear from you one way or the other; whether it helped or not. As I said, this is my personal experience using this combination of drops and ointment together, which I found to be much more effective than just using one or the other. You can find Traumeel at Whole Foods or most health food stores and nutrition centers. I order mine online from Vitacost.com. It's cheaper there. Whenever I find something that helps me in a significant way, I like to pass it along in hopes of helping someone else. So it is with Traumeel. Let me hear from you.

Love and Blessings.

  1. OOOOhhh...Thanks so much for posting this. I've heard good stuff about Traumeel. In fact, I am falling in love with the whole Heel family. Have you also tried Lymphomyosot? REALLY helped with my knee pain...which was getting unbearable. Gonna post this on the Lyme Blogger Page. Are you on there yet? If not, I am going to add you.

  2. Oh I love the Heel family of products too, Kathy! They're fantastic! I've always used Truameel but never quite as aggresively as I did during these past couple months. It's worth it's weight in gold!

I've never tried Lymphomyosot but I'm going to check into it for sure. So glad to hear it helped with your knee pain. Thanks for that bit of info. And thanks for adding me to Lyme Blogger.

Love and (((Hugs))) to you too!
