Jesus: The First Noel

Of all the Christmas carols there are, it's The First Noel that has always made me cry. There have actually been times I've sobbed upon hearing it. It’s the kind of thing I’ve understood and I haven’t. Yes, it is my favorite Christmas song but it runs even deeper then that. So a few years ago, I started researching the word noel and its origins. And the Holy Spirit began enlightening me to some deeper truths.

I am not a theologian, and this was not an exhaustive study, but I thought I'd share a brief summary of what I discovered in my own searching.

The First Noel is a traditional English carol. I could find no information about who originally penned the song. However, additional lyrics were written and edited by William Sandys and Davies Gilbert, both British authors, who gave us the version we know so well today. They entitled it, The First Nowell, and based it upon the Gospel account of Christ's birth.

The English word Nowell was taken from the French word Noel. It can be traced further back to the Latin word natalis, which means "birth" or "birthday" as a noun, or "of or relating to birth" as an adjective. Noel is also used as a modern term for Christmas or in reference to the Christmas season.

So when we sing The First Noel, we're singing about Jesus and His birth. Said another way, we are singing in celebration of His birth. He is The First Noel or the first Christmas. Perhaps it could even be rightly called the first birth or the original birth of Christmas.

I personally believe the true root (Jesus; the root of Jesse [David's father] - Isaiah 11:10; Romans 15:12; Revelation 22:16) of Christmas was established by the first coming of Christ as a baby. And while we commemorate or celebrate His birth during this time of year, it's not just a holiday; Christmas is a person.

Christmas is Jesus.

He came to us because God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] will not perish, but have eternal life with Him. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him (John 3:16-17).

I'll add my own translation here:

Christmas came because God loves us. And He, Jesus, is God's gift to us.

When you accept Christ as your Savior and Lord, you are receiving The First Noel himself. You're truly receiving and being transformed by Emmanuel, which means God with us. And He is with us. Therefore, you carry the living CHRISTmas within you - in your spirit.

When we sincerely invite Him into our lives, He comes. When we call upon His name, He comes. He comes to have genuine relationship with us. He comes for us to know Him. It is the supernatural residence of Christ in us sealed through and by the Spirit of God. The Apostle Paul called it a mystery. And to our natural minds it most certainly is, but it's true nonetheless.

It's no wonder, then, that our spirits would bear witness to this song, or any song or words for that matter, about Him (which is why I believe it affects me the way it does). The Spirit of Christ in us is responding. Our innermost being is bearing witness to the truth of who He is and what He's done for us.

Hallelujah.

Just as Elizabeth's baby (John the Baptist) leapt in her womb when she was near Mary with Jesus in her's, may we be stirred this beautiful holy season by "the hope of glory" in us. May we come to know Him more deeply. And may we live everyday as holy in the very essence of Christmas itself; in Jesus, Yeshua, our King - our beloved Noel.

In His love and peace,

Michelle

Crowned

All my scars and stories
cannot keep me from Your glory
because You crowned me from the start.

In Your tender mercy
is the continual echo of love
that came to set me free.

You are in my past.
You’re my tomorrow.
And You are always by my present side.

There is no brokenness too great for You.

A Word From The Lord

I hear the Father saying,

“This is the Word of the Lord:

I AM exposing lies and deception. I AM revealing greater truths and understanding. I AM making known the secret things.

I AM exposing the plans of the enemy left and right. I AM uncovering all that has been covered up; even within the Body of Christ. I AM undoing what has been done that is contrary to My will and My purpose prevailing.

You are in a time where I will no longer tolerate My own children using their mouths and words to slander and speak out curses against their brothers and sisters in Christ. I have warned time and time again for this to stop, but for some; it has fallen on deaf ears.

I have extended grace upon grace, and then greater grace even more. Still, there are those who have absolutely refused My hand of correction to help them, and instead; have chosen to go on walking in their own foolish, selfish, and arrogant way. And they’ve done so knowing it was not the way I wanted.

So the time has come for Me to reveal the true motives of people’s hearts and intentions.

The time has come where I will remove the camouflage that has been set around many matters and many peoples in order to deceive them and to cause them to stumble and get on board with Satan’s destructive and disastrous plots, schemes, and shams.

No longer will I tolerate what has been happening. There has been an enemy in the camp of many of My sons and daughters. Some have discerned this and some have not. Nevertheless, this enemy was sent to wreak havoc on My purpose prevailing in your lives and in your households.

Whatever damage has been done will need to be assessed and dealt with appropriately. Some of what happened was allowed in order to reveal cracks or weak places in your armor and prayer lives. This will serve you well if you allow Me to teach you how to build this into a constructive strength.

I want to redeem what the devil, and some people, meant for your harm, and turn it for your good and the glory of My Kingdom. However, you must allow Me to walk you through the steps of action that are needed to do so.

There is no middle ground anymore. My children can’t play both sides of the field. You cannot sway back and forth. There’s no more straddling the fence.

A garden cannot be planted with tomatoes and then harvested with carrots. No, whatever you sow is what will be revealed at the time of reaping. So it is in your life.

Your obedience yields fruit. Your disobedience yields fruit also. Whichever you have chosen to walk in will reveal itself in this hour.

Foundations are likewise being revealed. Whatever you have built upon will show itself in this time as well.”

He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him. Daniel 2:22 (NKJV)

For everything that is hidden will eventually be brought out into the open, and every secret will be brought to light. Mark 4:22 (TLB)

Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears My words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete. Luke 6:46-49 (NIV)

Don't be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others-ignoring God-harvests a crop of weeds. All he'll have to show for this life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God's Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life. Galatians 6:7-8 (The Message)

Poets, Prophets, and Seers

Walk steadfast over stones of time,
uproot and plant the fields.

Stand firmly in this present place,
the prophets now reveal.

The depths of understanding run,
beneath the tide of hours.

With holy vision the seers see,
and broadcast from watchtowers.

The poets words like tapestry,
expresses truth and pain.

The sound we hear from pens and swords,
uncovers hope again.

Listen.
Look.
Live.

As light shines bright.
Shadows dissolve.
Darkness cannot prevail.

Where grace abounds.
Like open meadows.
Love pours out to tell.

While prayer flows.
Unlocking power.
Setting things a part.

There is no wasted labor here.
But emptied vessels.
And servant hearts.

We long to truly hear.
We long to truly see.
We long to truly write.
We long to truly know.
The deep mysteries of Him.
And of His Kingdom.

Walking Through The Fire of Change

God raises up His agents of change through the fire. They must walk through the fire first before they can come out to help lead others through. And when it's time, God will bring them to the forefront to do what He has called, chosen, and/or commissioned them to do.

This is what's happening now on many levels.

The more intimately I come to know Him, the more I come to see and understand His ways are truly nothing like our own. They are much, much higher. This is why He often calls us to spiritually come up higher because it helps us to see and understand things from His perspective.

I say that because what He is doing won't necessarily look like what we think or expect. It will require us to come up higher in order to fully grasp.

Many of these agents of change that are being raised up for this time will challenge the status quo everywhere they go because they know the very heartbeat of God. Their finger is not on the pulse of the culture. Rather their finger is on the pulse of the Lord.

And don't be surprised by who they are either. Just know the Father has chosen them, and He has every right to do so according to His will and good pleasure.

We are in a time where we must truly lay aside our own opinions and desires, and align ourselves with Him, His heart, and His purposes.

There will be much transitioning taking place. Some of it will look like turmoil, but in the midst of this, God is actually redefining the soil from which we grow and function. New things are going to spring up as a result.

Change is surely coming, and most importantly; this is change the Father is orchestrating. Despite what it might look like in the natural, there are a lot of good things that lie ahead. The Lord is going to surprise many of us. The key is to set our eyes on Him and what He is doing.

I hear the Spirit of God saying,

"I AM directing them. I AM directing these God-ordained agents of change. I AM sending them forth. I will not allow the smoke to clear without accomplishing the purposes of My heart.

There are those who are crying out to Me, saying, 'Is there a way out?! Is there a way out of this, Oh Lord? A way out for me; a way out for my family; a way out for my nation?'"

And the Lord says,

"I have heard those cries. I've heard them. Now, look unto Me and trust what I AM doing; for I know the end from the beginning. And I AM doing a new thing that will cause great change to come and take place.

Even now, a transitioning is underway. It is a transitioning from out of the old way and into the new way. It is a way I have chosen. I, alone, AM the answer for this change and I will use those I have so decided to bring the purposes of My heart about in the way I desire.

There are greater days ahead. And while there will always be some form of opposition from the enemy, I want to assure you; he does not have the upper hand. I do. So set yourselves in alignment with the purpose of My heart, for it is My purpose that is causing this great change to be produced.

As My Son said, do not let your hearts be troubled. Don't let them be filled with fear and anxiety. But trust in God. Believe in Me. These are truly words to live by.

I AM truth. I AM justice. I AM light. I AM love. And I AM serving notice to My House - get yourselves ready; for I AM coming. And I'm not coming just to visit; I AM coming to stay. I AM coming to abide with you in a way I never have before.

Selah.

So as you walk through the fire of change, know that I AM purifying you. Know that I AM bringing you into the land of purpose and vision that your very souls are longing for. And you must embody this purpose and this vision; for it is the purpose and the vision of the Lord your God. It is the purpose and the vision of the Kingdom.

I AM calling you to bring My Kingdom purpose and My Kingdom vision into the earth. And not only is this the way out many are crying out to Me for, but this is divinely etched in who you are. And you are My true sons and My true daughters. You are carrying My very essence within you.

Do not disrupt the sound of My change; for I AM the sound that is bringing this about.

I AM evicting deception, nonsense, and encumbrance.

I AM dismantling contention, bitterness, and strife.

I AM removing victimization, haughtiness, and darkness.

I AM.

I AM promoting some and I AM bringing down others; for it is time.

So do not be moved by what you see in the natural. My divine purpose is undergirding this time of great change. It will continue to get heated but do not be drawn into the rhetoric or the fray. Instead, let My hand guide you as you walk in My way.

My change always incites upheaval. So it has in times past and so it is now. Nevertheless, My purpose is prevailing.

I will perform My Word on behalf of those who love Me and are the called according to My purpose. For have I not told you that I will work all these things together for your good? Did I not say that My Word will not return void to Me, but will succeed in what I sent it to do?

This time requires you to ready yourselves for I AM calling. I AM calling you to be ready for this great, unimaginable change that lies before you. It will be filled with both goodness and hardship but the real matter at hand is that My purpose will prevail in it.

As I expose deeper truths, as I reveal greater understanding, you will feel the heat building but you will not be burned by it. For My fire is a holy fire. My fire is a pure fire. My fire is a worthy fire. And My fire will burn the dross away that is holding you back. My fire will be the light which bears witness with you.

For My fire cannot be contained as you know and understand containment. Rather My fire will rage with My purpose. And this is the sound you are going to hear - the sound of My fire burning.

It will bring freedom to those who are in captivity; it will enlighten those who are in need of understanding; it will yield a purification and unifying of the saints; it will also drown out the voices of darkness that are trying to pervade many of My people. For this fire holds a holy roar of victory within it. And all who know Me will know this is My sound and will not be afraid of it.

Do not misunderstand My words. For when My fire rages or burns strongly with My purpose, people will run to it. They will desire to immerse themselves in My fire.

Those who do not know Me will want to know and understand how it is this fire can consume death yet also give life. They will want to know who is this God that burns a fire so hot and so pure but does not destroy me? How can His fire burn with such immense love and light? How, they will ask, is this possible?

Then you, My sons and daughters, will tell them. You will answer for Me. And the answer you will give is Christ and Christ crucified. Jesus, Yeshua, will be glorified as you lift Him up and speak the truth in love to those who are far off. For My Son has already removed the barrier of separation.

He is your peace. He is your righteousness. He is your hope. And He is the source of life and light with which the fire you inquire of burns. He will satisfy your hungry and thirsty souls. Only He can. Receive Him - t
his is My sound that will proceed out of your mouths.

Be ready, for this is a time unlike any other. The Gospel will spread like a wildfire, unable to be contained or extinguished. I will pour Myself out as I've never done before. I will ignite many with a fresh spark of My fire. In this, new campfires will be established to give My people fresh sparks of My love, truth, and grace. And it will be extraordinary.

Guard your hearts, beloved; not from fellowship with each other, but from the fruits of the flesh. Feed your spirits. Keep yourselves in My perfect will and peace, and do not allow another to lead you off course.

I will finish what I started.

And it will be good!"

Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19 (English Standard Version)

Therefore, since we are receiving an unshakable Kingdom, let us be filled with gratitude, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe. For our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:28-29 (Berean Study Bible)

The Marvelous Road Of Change: Leaving Our Old For His New

The old is familiar and comfortable. It feels safe and certain. We know what to expect and we like it. But the new, while unfamiliar, uncomfortable, and uncertain, brings about the ripest atmosphere for change and transformation. And this is the place where big things happen.

God is doing a new thing. And it will look and feel unfamiliar because we've never gone this way before. It will require shaking off complacency and stagnancy. It will require courage and action. And it will require resting and trusting in Him.

I hear The Father saying, "Are you willing to leave the safety and comfort of familiar in order to step into and embrace the risky and uncomfortable of My unfamiliar yet new thing? For great things lie ahead within the new thing, but you must be willing to let go of what you know and allow Me to take you into what you do not know. This is the place where we will labor together and accomplish things you never dreamt of. This is the place where the impossible becomes possible."

So, are we willing?

We'll never truly learn, grow, or advance beyond what we already know and understand if we stay in our safety zones. We'll never accomplish anything greater. To only be stretched and challenged isn't enough. Like Leonard Ravenhill said, "The question isn't were you challenged. The question is were you changed?"

He stretches us and challenges us in order to prepare us for change and advancement. However, we can be challenged all day long and still remain unmoved by it. The challenge must translate into actual change. And this requires some work on our part.

God's ultimate intention in challenging and stretching us is to generate the true change He wants and sees is needed in our lives. This is always tied into His purpose. And while this is often a process through which He refines us, the end result brings about His desired shift. But He doesn't just drop it all in our laps. Again, there is usually something required of us - a co-laboring with Him, and perhaps with certain people or a particular person.

Change is a verb that means to make or become different; to undergo modification; to give a different position, course, or direction to. This all implies taking action and/or being in motion. So to act on what He wants us to do or move in the direction He wants us to go is very important; even when we don't fully understand. He will always do His part, but so must we do ours. And that can mean taking a leap of faith into the unknown.

This can feel rather intimidating and beyond our abilities. Anytime we enter into anything new and unfamiliar, it often feels iffy. But we aren't going this alone; God is with us. We just need to trust Him and walk out what He shows us. In other words, choose to be obedient and trust that He knows what He's doing.

If He is going to use us to help birth great change in a particular area, we must first step into great change and breakthrough ourselves. We must embrace and pursue the transformative process He designs to bring us into the new thing He is doing.

The Father has long been setting the stage in preparation for this very thing. It is very exciting, but it also requires our acting on what He reveals. It requires leaving our safe, comfortable, familiar place and following Him into this marvelous new thing He is doing. It also requires our dependence on the Holy Spirit. He's our GPS, so to speak. The more we rely on Him, and not our own understanding, the easier this will go.

The resources we need will be in place, but we must take action on our end to do whatever He shows us and apply the insight He gives us as well. This will position us in the place He wants us to be in order to do the things He's called and commissioned us to do.

All throughout Scripture we see The Father creating and doing new things, and none more significant and life changing than establishing a new eternal blood covenant through Jesus. It is His nature to create and do something brand new. He truly is the God of, "Behold, I am doing a new thing" (Isaiah 43:19).

And so He is.

Great change is upon us both collectively and individually. We are going where we've never been before. And how we respond is what will be the difference.

A Word of Encouragment for Someone

The Lord gave me a word of encouragement for someone this morning, which He wanted me to audibly speak and not write. This happened rather spontaneously so it's a bit raw and a little long, but I really felt it was important. Please know, despite any fumbles on my part, this message is sincerely from the heart of God. I've no idea who this is for, but I pray it falls on the precious ears it's meant to reach.

In His deep love and hope,

Michelle

We Are Kingdom People

We don't always feel like our true identity. Our past, our present, our struggles, and our uncertainties can leave us estranged from our authentic selves. However, we must never forget the importance of knowing who we really are. Because who we really are is not what's happened to us or the circumstances we find ourselves in. Who we are is not what we have or don't have. It's not what other people say or believe about us. It isn't even necessarily what we think or believe about ourselves.

Who we are is found in Christ alone.

Read this over. Write this down. Print this up.

Speak it out loud.
Live it out loud.
Let it sink in real deep.

Just don't ever forget the people we really are.

We are light people. We are salt people. We are occupy people. We are grace and truth people. We are hope people. We are mercy people.

We are love people. We are joy people. We are peace, patience, and kindness people. We are goodness people. We are faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control people.

We are cross people. We are redemption people. We are resurrection people. We are Easter people. Conquered death people. Abundant life people.

We are new creation people. We are sons and daughters people. Wonderfully and fearfully made people. We are His beloved people.

We are holy people. Wisdom and discernment people. Justice and courage people. Walk humbly with your God people.

We are prayer people. Doers of the word people. The called according to His purpose people. Worshipers in Spirit and truth people.

We are prophetic people. We are revelation people. We are visionary people. Creative and innovative people.

We are breakthrough people. Transformation people. Overcomer people. And we've got the victory people.

We are spread the Gospel people. Share the good news people. Heal the brokenhearted and set the captives free people. Beauty from ashes people.

We are blessing people. We are strength and power people. Thanksgiving, praise, and honor people.

We are on Earth as it is in Heaven people. Nothing is impossible to those who believe people. Declare a thing and it will be established people. Obedience is better than sacrifice people.

We are I AM people. Father of lights, Son of God, and Holy Spirit people.

We are supernatural people. Greater works people. Walk on water people. Drive out the darkness people. Come up higher people.

We are King of Glory people. Lamb of God people. Bread of life people. Living waters people. We're light of the world people. Hope of glory people.

We are Jesus people. We live and move and have our being in Him people. We can do all things through Christ people. We are because He is people.

I could go on and on, but you get the message.

And it's absolutely true.

So let us always remember. Let us lovingly remind one another.

In the sweetness of life; in the hardship of life; in the dailiness of lifeIn the narrow places and the wide open spaces. When all is well and when all is not.

This is who we really are.

We are Kingdom people.

Scars and Stories

It was Bob Dylan who wrote and sang, "Behind every beautiful thing there's been some kind of pain." Live enough and you'll find out just how true this is.

Life is full of contrasts. All of us experience both good and bad times. We all go through ups and downs and have mountain and valley seasons. And we all, to some degree, have scars and stories to go with them.

Our scars are often rooted in deep pain and hardship, but beautiful things can be birthed from them when God is involved in the healing process. And we shouldn't be dismissive of this.

If we throw out people's scars, we're throwing out people's stories, and we're discarding parts of them and their lives. We can't only be interested in the neat, pretty parts while dismissing the messy, difficult ones. We can't just skip over the heartaches and disappointments. God certainly doesn't.

We might not realize just how much He actually works in and through the scars and stories of people - including our own.

Behind every scar there's a story. And behind every story there's a valuable life.

I have learned not to be dismissive of this because it's often holy ground. I'm not implying the pain, suffering, or injustice behind the scars were all necessarily a part of God's plan. Rather, I'm trying to point out there are often hidden gems waiting to be discovered in spite of them. Meaning there is something of great value within these places only He can know and wants to help us find.

What we see through the filter of pain and shadows, He sees through the eyes of love and light. He looks past what seems broken, tarnished, lost, or hopeless and sees the most precious thing of all - a human soul.

He doesn't trivialize our wounds or treat them casually. Quite the contrary. He cares about them because He cares about us. He embraces them because He embraces us. In His deep kindness and compassion, He shows up and meets us where we are.

Jesus is intimately familiar with scars and stories. This is why we can trust Him with ours.

He eternally carries the scars of His crucifixion; not as an ongoing source of pain, but as an ever-present reminder of what was accomplished through them.

Those are the scars that once flowed with hallowed blood. Agony, death, and sorrow are a part of the story of Christ, but so are peace, life, and joy. Without them, all of them, there would be no grace or mercy. There'd be no hope for change. His scars are central to our faith. They tell the ultimate story of love and redemption. They are the proof. They're the scars that heal and they speak for themselves.

Knowing Jesus endured such tremendous suffering on our behalf, knowing His scars were for us, has a way of putting things into a different perspective. Because He was a man of sorrows, familiar with pain and suffering, He can understand ours too. And because He is our Redeemer, He can help us find redemptive value in our scars and suffering as well.

I don't always understand why things happen. I'll be the first to say I don't have all the answers to the questions. In fact, the deep adversities, griefs, hardships, and traumas many of us endure leave me without words sometimes. But I do believe He wants to help us transform our personal pain into something more beautiful and meaningful.

Thr truth is, healing is most often a process we have to walk out but it's a sacred one no less. And while it might not always look like what we expect, we can trust He knows how to help us traverse the painful, difficult places in our lives. He knows who and what we need to navigate this path.

I've come to realize as we discover those hidden gems, we'll also discover more about ourselves and how much we matter to Him. And in time, we can start to see the divine beauty within our scars. They become a profound reminder of what we've been through and overcome. They become the proof of our story and not the sting of our story.

Eventually, we'll be able to share our experiences with others. We'll be the evidence of beauty rising from the ashes. We'll be a bright holy spark shining His light through the guts and the glory of our scars and stories. We'll be a true voice of understanding and encouragement to those who are struggling with theirs. We'll be hands and hearts of compassion lifting people with the love of Jesus.
And, more than anything, we will truly come to understand that because of His scars and His story; we all have hope for our own.

TRS Top Ten Posts Of All Time

I started The Ragamuffin Saint in 2010 and have been blogging here ever since. I always try to write authentically from the heart. Some posts are based on my own experiences, musings, and insights; some are inspired solely by the Holy Spirit; and some are a combination of these. Regardless, I find it interesting to know which blog posts hit home the most with people.

It is always meaningful to me when someone leaves a comment or sends an email to express how a particular blog spoke to them, or perhaps confirmed something they were praying about. It's truly a sincere honor, and quite humbling as well, to write words that have the capacity to touch another's soul or spirit. I don't take it lightly. With that thought in my mind, I wanted to share, as of now, The Ragamuffin Saint's top ten posts of all time. They're listed in order of most views.

As always, thank you for reading.

Snow Revelations Revisited

We had an unexpected snow here this morning. I'm talking huge, gigantic flakes falling from the sky, and in less than an hour; the yard, sidewalk, trees, and fields surrounding my house were covered. As you can see from the photos, it stuck to everything (except the road), and was absolutely beautiful! Our local weather forecast was for rain, which had been falling throughout the night, to change over to snow by late afternoon. But God threw in an unexpected bonus. And it was a reminder of what He spoke to me in January 2015. In fact, this snow was exactly like the snow we had then. I blogged about it last year in two parts - Snow Revelations: Part 1 and Snow Revelations: Part 2 (The Bride)

The sun is now shining intermittently, and while this morning's snow has already melted, sleet pellets are falling like rain at times. Very unusual. But then again, what God is doing is highly unusual. Interestingly, we are expecting snow squalls later this evening and over the course of the next few days. I feel in my spirit that something new has started and believe this is God driving the point home. Another prophetic signpost, if you will, declaring that He's not forgotten - His word and His promises will come to pass.

I pray this can be an encouragement to those of you who are still waiting on The Lord to fulfill His word in your life. It's helped to encourage me. And, if you haven't already, please read Snow Revelations Part 1 and 2 to gain a better understanding of what this means.

Blessings.

As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is My word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
Isaiah 55:10-11 NIV

Ready. Steady. Go.

God’s prophets are arising.

The Father says He is about to release a new breed of prophets. These are not ordinary prophets (not that there’s anything ordinary about God’s prophets), but rather these prophets are very unique, as in unconventional, unusual.

These are the kept ones who have been hidden away, in varying degrees, to ready them for their future tasks and assignments. Theirs is an unusual path, which they have been required to walk, and it’s been part of their necessary preparation process. The Father knows how to train His prophets.

Unusual prophets = Unusual training.

The Spirit of God has done deep, extensive heart work in them. Their training and purifying process have been extremely hard - it’s been long, strenuous, and even harsh in many ways. But through this process, their faith has been tested and refined as gold.

Others on the outside looking in have not understood it. Instead, they’ve judged prematurely. They have sought to understand but without the wisdom of God. One cannot fully understand what God is doing apart from the wisdom the Holy Spirit reveals and imparts.

They are truly Ready. Steady. Go.

And this means more than one might realize.

To be ready is to be fully equipped, prepared, and complete. It is to be in a suitable or proper state for action and purpose.

To be steady is to be sound, stable, and secure. It is to be firmly fixed, supported, and balanced. It is also to be continuous in development, frequency, or intensity.

To go is to move, advance, or progress from one place or point to another; to travel or depart. It also means to function properly; as in all systems go, which means to be in a state of readiness for immediate action.

This perfectly describes these prophets. They are ready. They are steady. And they are about to go forth as God intends.

Yes, unusual, eccentric, and different are certain words that delineate them however, they are uncompromising in the things of God. Don't mistake their unconventionality for disregard or disrespect because nothing could be further from the truth.

They have been chosen by The Father. They have His heart. They walk in obedience and humility. And yet they also walk powerfully in His love, light, truth, and grace. They delight in God’s holiness; they delight in being set apart for service to Him, His Kingdom, and the body of Christ.

The cost has been extremely high, but it will be worth it all because of the power and authority they will operate in for the sake of the Gospel and the advancement of God’s Kingdom.

This brings up a relevant matter. The magnitude of God’s power is going to be revealed in deeper, greater, and more extraordinary ways than we’ve ever known or seen in our lifetime. And there is a connection between His power and His love.

This magnitude of God’s love and power is going to astound many, even within the body of Christ. We think we know what it is to operate in His love and power, but I sense what we thought we knew about this will pale in comparison to what's coming. It’s going to be that mighty and that profound.

The Father will certainly use His children to display His dynamic love and power through, but these unusual prophets are being specially trained up for unusual manifestations of His love and power.

Much as Paul declared in 1 Corinthians 2, their message will not be with persuasive words, but with demonstrations of the Holy Spirit’s power so that people’s faith won’t rest on human wisdom, but on the power of God alone.

Get ready for God’s power prophets to show up on the scene. Power meaning dunamis. And that’s exactly what they are – power or dunamis prophets.

The dunamis (pronounced doo'-nam-is) power of God is what they carry because it is what's needed for this time. This is why their training and development have been so extensive and trying.

The word dunamis means miraculous power, force, might, and strength.

Strong's Concordance defines dunamis as physical power, force, might, ability, efficacy, or energy; powerful deeds, deeds showing (physical) power, marvelous works. It references the word dunamai (doo'-nam-ahee), which means enabled or empowered through God, or power through God's ability.

Thayer's Greek Lexicon translates dunamis as inherent power. Or power residing in a thing by virtue of its nature, or by which a person or thing exerts and puts forth. Also, the power for performing miracles; moral power and excellence of soul; and power consisting in or resting upon armies, forces, and hosts.

God is inherently powerful. He is omnipotent or all-powerful. And He is revealing His dunamis power in a whole new way in this hour both inside and outside of the church. He will use His power prophets in very specific ways, which is what He’s had in mind all along.

These prophets will infuse the body of Christ with God’s dynamic power and love. They will also help ready, steady, and go the church in this particular time as the Holy Spirit directs.

One of the functions of the Office of Prophet is to equip the people of God for works of service – for what they are called to do – and to help build them up into unity and maturity in the faith. Therefore, we absolutely need ready, steady, sent ones to help teach, train, and prepare all believers.

This is why the five-fold ministry is so vital to the body. It is why Jesus gave them (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers) as gifts to His Bride. They are an extension of himself, and He knew we needed all five of them functioning together in order for us to rightly grow and mature.

And yet, He is also raising up some of these prophets as ministers to those outside of the church. It’s part of their unconventionality. They don’t walk and talk like “church prophets.” They aren’t designed to. This is why we cannot misunderstand their purpose. God is doing a new thing, and He is raising up a generation of unusual ministers to use.

Power prophets are a unique breed because they have been chosen to walk in the dunamis power of God for this time. And not for themselves, but for the purpose of The Lord to be fulfilled as He desires.

So get prepared for the ready, steady, sent ones, but don’t expect ordinary or usual with these prophetic ministers. They’re different. And The Father purposely created and trained them this way.

We will all be the better for receiving them as He sends them.
